Net collection rate
Payments collected as a share of what the practice was contractually entitled to collect, after contractual adjustments.
What it means in dermatology
Unlike gross collection rate, it is not distorted by the practice's own fee schedule, which makes it the only collection figure worth comparing over time.
A benchmark quoted without payer mix and contract terms is not a benchmark. The meaningful comparison is against your own contracted allowables.

It measures how much of the money you actually earned made it into the bank.
