About us
A Billing Company That Bills Only Skin
DermBilling USA exists because dermatology loses money in places a general billing company never looks: excision sizing, closure classification, specimen counting, Mohs stage reconciliation and modifier 25 defensibility. We took the opposite approach to breadth and built a team that does nothing else.
What we do
We provide medical billing and revenue cycle management for dermatology, dermatopathology and Mohs surgery practices across the United States. That covers coding, claim submission, denial management and appeals, eligibility and prior authorization, patient balances, aged A/R recovery, credentialing and monthly reporting.
We work inside the practice management system you already use rather than moving you onto ours, so your data, your history and your reporting stay in your hands.
How we work
- Coding is performed by AAPC-certified coders assigned only to dermatology accounts, with second-level review on surgical and pathology claims.
- Each account has a named lead who knows your providers, your payer mix and your documentation habits.
- Denials are categorised to root cause and reported monthly by provider and payer, with the two or three fixes that would remove the largest share.
- Every figure we report is pulled from your practice management system, so you can verify it independently.
How we are paid
Full revenue cycle management is normally a percentage of collections, which aligns our income with yours and means we carry the cost of rework. Coding-only engagements, credentialing and standalone audits are quoted as flat fees. Pricing depends on volume, specialty mix and the state of your existing A/R, and we quote after seeing your numbers rather than before.
Compliance posture
A Business Associate Agreement is executed before any protected health information is exchanged. Access is least-privilege and individually attributable, transmission is encrypted, and administrative activity is logged. Our HIPAA notice sets out how protected health information is handled and how to raise a concern.
We do not claim certifications we do not hold. Where a specific attestation matters to your compliance team, ask us directly and we will answer precisely.
How to check us out
- Request reference calls with dermatology practices comparable to yours in size and payer mix.
- Let us audit a sample of your recent claims at no cost and show you findings against your own data.
- Ask for our denial-category reporting format before signing, so you know exactly what you will receive each month.
- Read the agreement's termination and run-off terms; we are happy for them to be reviewed by your counsel.
Contact
Call (631) 366-8765 or request a claims audit through our contact page. We respond to enquiries from practices, practice managers and consultants; please do not send patient information by email or through the website form.
Frequently asked questions
How can we verify what you say before signing anything?
Ask for reference calls with dermatology practices of a similar size, and let us run a no-cost audit on a sample of your recent claims. You will see findings against your own data before any agreement exists.
Who owns the data?
You do. We work inside your practice management system under named user accounts, so records, reports and history remain in your possession if the relationship ends.
How are you paid?
Most engagements are a percentage of collections, so we are paid only when you are. Coding-only work, credentialing and one-off audits are quoted as flat fees.
What happens if we want to leave?
You give notice under the agreement, we work the open A/R through an agreed run-off period, and we hand over documentation and access. There is no data ransom and no exit fee.
