Careers in Dermatology Billing and Revenue Cycle

A career in dermatology revenue cycle management means specialising rather than generalising: knowing why an excision is sized before fixation, why a same-day evaluation survives review, and why a claim that paid in one Medicare jurisdiction denies in the next. We hire coders, denial specialists, credentialing coordinators and analysts who want that depth in one specialty instead of surface knowledge across twenty.

Roles we hire for

Openings vary through the year. These are the functions our teams are built from.

Dermatology Medical Coder

Code dermatology, Mohs surgery and dermatopathology encounters from the clinical note: lesion counts and sizing, excision measurement, closure classification, modifier 25 and 59 decisions. CPC or equivalent certification, with dermatology experience preferred over general multi-specialty volume.

Denial Management Specialist

Work denials to root cause rather than resubmission: read CARC and RARC pairings, build appeals against the coverage policy in force on the date of service, and feed the recurring patterns back into pre-bill edits.

A/R and Follow-up Analyst

Work aged receivables in filing-deadline order, pursue payments outside prompt-pay windows, and reconcile posted payments against contracted allowables so underpayments surface instead of being absorbed.

Credentialing and Enrollment Coordinator

Run provider enrollment and revalidation across Medicare contractors, state Medicaid programs and commercial plans, tracking effective dates so new providers and new locations can bill from day one.

Eligibility and Prior Authorization Specialist

Verify coverage close to the date of service, manage authorization queues for biologics and phototherapy against each plan's clock, and document step therapy the way the plan will ask for it.

Client Revenue Cycle Manager

Own the reporting relationship with a portfolio of dermatology practices: monthly performance review, provider-level coding findings and the operational changes that follow from them.

How we work

Work is performed inside each client's own practice management system under named user accounts, so actions are attributable and clients keep visibility of their own data. Every role operates under HIPAA safeguards: role-based access, encryption in transit and at rest, audit logging and documented breach procedures.

New team members are trained on dermatology-specific rules — lesion destruction frequency limits, Mohs staging and repair sequencing, dermatopathology component billing, modifier 25 documentation — and code under review until accuracy is established. Coding decisions are reviewed by peers, not signed off in isolation.

Frequently asked questions

Do you hire people without dermatology experience?

Yes, where the coding or revenue cycle fundamentals are strong. Dermatology-specific rules are taught internally, and new hires code under review until their accuracy on derm encounters is established.

Are these remote roles?

Most revenue cycle roles are performed remotely on secured systems under named user accounts with role-based access. Requirements vary by role and are stated when a position is posted.

What training and compliance requirements apply?

Every team member completes HIPAA privacy and security training and works under safeguards including role-based access, encryption in transit and at rest, and audit logging. Coding staff maintain their certifications and continuing education.

How do we apply if no role is currently posted?

Send a CV and a short note about the systems and payer mix you have worked with. We keep applications on file and contact candidates when a matching role opens.
